Ballet Ireland makes a welcome return with the Annual Summer School – a week filled to the brim with creativity and self-expression. Daily workshops centred in dance culminate in a finale performance on stage, for friends and family.

The town Mouse and the Country Mouse, a fable that has been doing the rounds for at least 25 years, is this year’s theme .

The summer school is open to all, boys and girls, young adults, dancers and non-dancers alike, from the age of 6.

Led by experienced dance artist, Eileen McClory, this dance summer school promises to be challenging and enjoyable for participants.  During the week, there will be a series of workshops in a range of dance styles including Street, Lyrical Jazz, Contemporary, Contact Improvisation and Dance Theatre.  There will also be a focus on Body Conditioning.  The classes will help participants develop a base of dance technique and have fun learning new dance styles.

Dance Fusion Summer School is part of a community initiative between Dance Resource Base, BELB and Artemis [NI] Pty Ltd to develop dance at Ashfield Girls’ High School and build links between the school and the community.  The project is funded by Big Lottery.
